  • What are the store's opening hours?
    We have different opening hours for different seasons. See the complete overview below: The opening hours are the following: Summer season (from May 1st until October 31st) Mon: Closed Tue: 08:30 - 18:00 Wed: 08:30 - 18:00 Thu: 08:30 - 18:00 Fri: 08:30 - 18:00 Sat: 08:30 - 17:00 Sun: Closed Winter season (from November 1st until April 30th) Mon: Closed Tue: 10:00 - 18:00 Wed: 10:00 - 18:00 Thu: 10:00 - 18:00 Fri: 10:00 - 18:00 Sat: 10:00 - 17:00 Sun: Closed We are always closed on Ascension Day.   • Are you accessible by car?
    We certainly are! There is plenty of parking space available, both in front of our store and in the surrounding area. Our store is located on the ground floor, so it is also accessible for wheelchairs.
  • Are you accessible by public transport?
    If you want to visit us by public transport there are several options! You can reach us by train and/or metro, bus, and tram. Bus 18 Slotervaart - Centraal Station: Get off at the Justus Lipsiusstraat stop. From this stop it is about a 200m walk. Walk on the Johan Huizingalaan, towards the Nicolaas Japiksestraat. You will find us on your right! Train: Get off at Station Lelylaan. It is about a 1 km walk from the station. Walk west, take the pedestrian crossing and the bridge over the water. Walk straight through the P&R and turn left onto Comeniusstraat. Walk down this street until you reach a large intersection with traffic lights. Turn right towards the Johan Huizingalaan. Continue down this street and you will eventually see the store. You will find us on your right! (Can't/don't want to walk that far? You can also take a transfer ride from Station Lelylaan to tram 1 in the direction of Osdorp de Aker & Tram 17 in the direction of Osdorp Dijkgraafplein or metro 50/51 in the direction of Isolatorweg. See the tram and metro category for the relevant stops.) Metro 50 Isolatorweg - Gein and metro 51 Isolatorweg - Centraal Station: Get off at the Postjesweg stop. From this stop it is about a 650 m walk. Take the stairs. Turn right onto Postjesweg. Follow the road on the Robert Fruinlaan. Walk down the street until you reach the large intersection at Sloterpark. Turn left towards Johan Huizingalaan. You will find us on your left! (Can't/don't want to walk that far? You can also take the bus from Postjesweg. This is bus 18 towards Slotervaart. See the bus category for the relevant stop.) Tram 1 richting Osdorp de Aker - Muiderpoort station en tram 17 richting Osdorp Dijkgraafplein - Centraal Station: Get off at the Johan Huizingalaan stop. From this stop it is about a 650m walk to our store. Take the stairs. Turn left onto Johan Huizingalaan. Follow this street until you reach the Hervormd Lyceum West on your left. Cross the pedestrian crossing on the right. After crossing, turn left. Walk a little bit and you will find us on your right! Please be aware that these directions are for planning your trip only. Road conditions may differ from the above description due to roadworks, maintenance, diversions or other situations. Keep this in mind when planning your trip.   • For what fishing types do you sell products?
    We sell items for all types of fishing, both freshwater and saltwater fish. We also have products for fishing abroad. You can see a number of examples below, for all categories we have articles available in various price ranges: Predator fishing: We have a wide range of lures, a wide range of (frozen) deadbait all year round. Carp fishing: We have a wide range of articles for distance fishing. We are also specialized in fishing with float rods and have this in stock in advance. Whitefish fishing: We have rods in stock for coarse fishing, and we have a wide range for feeder and method fishing. Trout Fishing: Our articles focus on payment waters in the Netherlands and free water abroad. Catfish fishing: We have a wide range of products for this type of fishing. Sea / shore and boat fishing: We have all the necessities for both types in stock. Fly fishing: We have a limited range of these.
  • Do you sell (live) bait?
    We have maggots and worms in stock all year round. We always have dead bait in stock as well.
  • Do you sell fishing gear for children?
    Of course! Our vision is to introduce young people to fishing in a fun way, which is why we have a very wide range of items in our store for every age category and price range.
  • Do you sell any products for fishing abroad?
    We have all kinds of supplies for fishing abroad. You can always contact us if you have any questions.
  • Do you have gift packages?
    We do not have any ready-made gift packages, but we can always make a nice gift set together with you! Not sure what to buy as a gift? You can always choose a Hengelsport Willem gift voucher. Please contact the store for more information, or visit us for further advice.
  • Do I have to be a customer to have my rod or reel repaired?
    No, definitely not! You don't have to be a customer to benefit from our services. Our services are for everyone. For more information, see our services.
  • What do I have to do to get my rod or reel repaired?
    Please contact us or visit the store to request a repair. There we will make a cost overview and give you an indication whether the repair is possible and how long the repair will take. Please be timely when requesting/reporting a repair, because we cannot always do immediate repairs for you.
  • Can I also send my rod or reel by post?
    Unfortunately, shipping is not possible. You can always drop by or contact us if you have any doubts or other questions about repairs.
  • How long does the repair take?
    The duration of the repair depends on the severity and the type of product. We repair it in house and do not send it to a third party. We strive to do the repair as soon as possible, but other repairs may already be pending. If you want to know more, please contact us or drop by for advice.
  • Can I also bring my rod and/or reel for maintenance?
    It is important that your fishing equipment remains in top quality and we think so too. That's why we also do maintenance. We check whether you need it and in consultation we determine whether your rod and / or reel is requires any maintenance.
  • Do you sell fishing permits?
    We do! We are an official sales point for fishing permits (affiliated with the Amsterdam Hengelsportvereniging and the Nederlandse Sportvisserij). You only have to fill in a form and we make sure that the registration goes smoothly. After that you only have to send in the application. Please note that the night and third fishing licenses we sell are only meant for fishing in Amsterdam. If you want a night permit or third rod permit meant for the anywhere else in the Netherlands, you must request this via email or the website of Sportvisserij Nederland. Unfortunately we cannot do this for you.
  • How much does a permit cost?
    How much a permit costs depends on what type of permit you want. Below is a summary for permits that we sell. Annual permit: Meant for all waters in the Netherlands and costs €45.* Day permit: For all waters in Amsterdam and costs €5.* Week permit: For all waters in Amsterdam and costs €25.* Night permit: For a year in all waters of Amsterdam and costs €12.50.* Third rod permit: For a year in all waters in Amsterdam and costs €37.50.* Please note that the night and third fishing licenses we sell are only meant for fishing in Amsterdam. If you want a night permit or third rod permit meant for the anywhere else in the Netherlands, you must request this via email or the website of Sportvisserij Nederland. Unfortunately we cannot do this for you. *All prices are subject to change.
